Reports: Chris Drury Breaks Finger, Out Four Weeks

Filed under: Rangers, NHL InjuriesNew York Rangers captain Chris Drury broke a finger during a Monday morning skate and will miss four weeks, according to multiple reports. The 34-year-old Drury was taking part in a scrimmage when he reportedly broke his left index finger.

If Drury is to miss the full four weeks, he will not play in the first four games of the regular season - missing two road games against the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders, while also missing two home games against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche.

Drury is a former member of both the Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche.

Lindsay Lohan Admits To Failing Drug Test

And THIS is why early discharges from rehab are generally a bad idea {sigh}. Lindsay Lohan confessed on twitter that she had, indeed, failed a drug test.
Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.
TMZ is now reporting that Lindsay actually failed two drug tests. In addition to landing her in jail, this setback could also further derail Lindsay's career, according to TMZ.
Lindsay is now relying on Judge Elden Fox to allow her to leave California to shoot "Inferno" in Louisiana and possibly fly to New York City for "Saturday Night Live."
Here's the problem. Sources connected with the case have been telling TMZ ... if Lindsay were to fail a drug test the judge would probably pull the plug on out-of-state-travel -- a privilege for Lindsay, not a right.
...But all bets are off now that Lindsay has flunked two tests.
And sources close to Lindsay somehow already know the big wigs on "Inferno" are pissed that she may have screwed up again, so flying to Louisiana may be a moot question.
You can't really blame the 'Inferno' producers for being upset. It looks like the best thing for Lindsay at this point is a long-term stay in an inpatient facility that focuses solely on drug abuse (not drug problems and psychiatric problems, which is what the UCLA program did).
This is really just TOO sad.

Do you hire a proven coach who will run things the way he wants? Or would Jones hire a bobblehead doll who will run things the way Jerry wants?

History has shown what works. But, unlike Kissinger, Jones is no student of history.

He ignores it in pursuit of his dream -- a Super Bowl title that is 100 percent Jerry-fied. It must be won by a coach who is merely a cog in the Great Cowboy Machine built, of course, by the architect from Arkansas.

And the Twins are about to make it 6-for-9 after completing a three-game sweep of the Sox in Chicago Thursday with an 8-5 victory that pushes Minnesota's lead to nine games and lowers its magic number to eight.

The difference? The Sox had a great one-third of a season. The Twins are having a great season, period. They've done it without closer Joe Nathan and with only half a season's worth of former MVP first baseman Justin Morneau.

They've adjusted and compensated and are 42-16 since the All-Star break. And they are going to be the AL Central champs.

Dodgers' Joe Torre to Step Down, Be Replaced by Don Mattingly

Filed under: DodgersJoe Torre will step down as manager of the Dodgers following the season and be replaced by Don Mattingly.

The Dodgers announced the move Friday afternoon and held a news conference prior to their weekend series opener against the Rockies.

Torre enters Friday's game with a 2,318-1,990 record in 29 seasons as a big league manager with the Dodgers, Yankees, Cardinals, Braves and Mets. The press release issued by the Dodgers said Torre "is expected to take time to determine his plans for 2011" which surely will fuel speculation that he might return to the Mets, whom he managed from 1977-81.

"Baseball has been my life, and hopefully will continue to be my life in some capacity,'' Torre said. "When I came out here, it was just to find out if managing can be fun again, and it's been fun. ... But you have to make some decisions by instinct, and my instinct tells me it's time to go.''
