Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Tablet Challenges Kindle Fire

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus tablet computer is intended to challenge Amazon's Kindle Fire, which launched Nov. 14 to consumers. At $399.99 for the WiFi-only model, the 7.0 Plus is twice the price of the $199 Kindle Fire. Samsung hopes the Tab 7.0 Plus' Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and several preloaded applications, including a unique "smart remote TV" application, will lure users to its slate. The device, also available subsidized at $249.99 in 3G from T-Mobile, is also incredibly light and super fast, sporting a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The 7.0 is the smallest of Samsung's Honeycomb tablets, joining the Android OEM's 7.7-inch Tab, 8.9-inch Tab and the 10.1-inch Tab, which you can see next to the 7.0 Plus here. Come take the tour of the 7.0 Plus here with eWEEK. - ...
