Anthony Cesario, Former Miami Dolphin, Dead at 34

Filed under: Dolphins, JaguarsAnthony Cesario, a former Miami Dolphin and All-American offensive guard at Colorado State, died Saturday of an apparent heart attack near Steamboat Springs, Colo., the Denver Post reported on Monday. He was 34.

Cesario, a three-year starter at CSU who had shorts stints with the Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars, recently had a pacemaker implanted.

"It's ironic he died of a heart attack. He had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew," Cesario's NFL agent, Pete Schaffer, told the Post.

Cesario had been a fixture at CSU long after his playing days with the Rams were over. He was alongside former CSU coach Sonny Lubick's son, Marc, as he battled cancer a few years back.

"I don't think there are very many people in our football program or in our building that did not know Anthony Cesario," said CSU football coach Steve Fairchild, a Rams offensive coordinator during Cesario's junior and senior years, said in a statement.
"Our most sincere condolences go out to his parents, Anthony and Sylvia, and the rest of their family."
